I'm passionate about my subject and passionate about ensuring that the young people we serve leave education with a high competency in English. Prior to teaching I worked in the radio industry as a presenter for 7 years and so when I became a teacher I enjoyed the opportunity to teach Media studies. (Theme of education) The aim is for students to gain experience in handling extracts from 19th century literature but also draw comparisons to modern non fiction texts. These resources therefore help students to address the literature criteria and language paper 2 criteria. Students will develop skills in: - true or false - synthesis - language analysis - explore context - social class Students will study an extract from Wuthering Heights on the theme of childhood and will analyse language and explore context. Students will look at the presentation of childhood and compare to modern society.
